The
Garden Room
A
cheery room for early risers, this east and south facing suite is
first to enjoy the light of day! The queen sized, Shaker style, pine,
canopy bed is undraped which keeps the room open and airy. Reading
lights on both sides of the bed eliminate vying for the "good"
side! Hand made bed linens and contemporary art by Jean Quick-To-See
Smith, Jinni Thomas, Dwayne Maxwell and Spencer Kimball add zing to
this delightful room. The full bath, with tub and shower combination,
is dressed in Mexican tile accents and a handmade vanity. Relax in
one of the comfortable club chairs and enjoy the views of the wildflower
meadow and the Jemez Mountains from the abundant windows.

The
suites share an adjoining Sitting Room, wrapped with windows to capture
awesome views all around. Here you may choose from a nice assortment
of excellent reading material, or many programming options with our
satellite tv. Falling asleep in a squishy chair in a sunny spot is
also an option! Be sure to catch our collection of Santos (carved
saints) and art by Evelyn Rosenberg, Dwayne Maxwell, Arlene Wackerbarth,
Leone Wilson, Cheri Reynolds, Suzy Berquist and stained glass by Gale
Otto.

We enjoy
taking the extra steps to ensure that your time with us is fondly
remembered. You'll find fresh flowers in your room and homemade truffles
will be served in the evening. Fresh fruit is offered in the sitting
room and you may always help yourself to beverages from the refrigerator.

Delicious
home-made breakfasts are thoughtfully prepared and served on china
and linens with sterling and crystal in the sunny breakfast room
which overlooks the garden patio.
Perhaps
you will be served Dutch Baby pancakes or a three cheese egg bake
casserole. The next day you may have French toast with cranberry/orange
bread or frittatas (asparagus, spinach or mushroom) with
pears baked in maple syrup and served with cheddar cheese. The Desert
Willow also features homemade granola served with fresh fruit and
vanilla yogurt. In season you may be treated to peaches and strawberries
in heavy cream with brown sugar. Whatever the menu for the day,
you'll be delighted...guaranteed! Please let us know if you have
any special dietary restrictions when you make your reservation.
Since we are a remote location we need to plan ahead! The Dragonfly
Cottage has its own fully furnished and equipped kitchen and a continental
breakfast is served only by prior arrangement and a charge of $15.00
per day for two people.

Summer
or winter, rain, shine or snow, the Desert Willow Bed and Breakfast
is an easy and relaxing drive from Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Alamos
or anywhere! Conveniently situated along the Jemez Mountain Trail,
the roads are carefully maintained so that access is rarely a problem.
The Jemez Mountain Trail has been designated a National Scenic Byway
and is a treat in itself, winding through gorgeous scenery, past the
Valles Caldera, which
is one of the world's largest calderas (a crater-like basin of a volcano).
Come and enjoy the wonders of the Jemez Mountains; one of the reasons
why New Mexico is called the Land of Enchantment.
